Aromatherapy

What is True Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy can be defined as the art and science of utilizing naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind and spirit.  It is an art and science which seeks to explore the physiological, psychological and spiritual realm of the individual's response to aromatic extracts as well as to observe and enhance the individual's innate healing process.  As a holistic medicine, Aromatherapy is both a preventative approach as well as an active treatment during acute and chronic stages of illness or 'dis'-ease.

Aromatherapy is natural, non-invasive treatment system designed to affect the whole person not just the symptom or disease and to assist the body's natural ability to balance, regulate, heal and maintain itself by the correct use of essential oils.

Aromatherapy is essentially an interaction between the therapist, client and essential oils, working together to bring forth the healing energy which will help the client regain their sense of well being and vitality.

Aromatherapy at Body Wisdom

Aromatherapy is an important part of our work.  At Body Wisdom, we see the provision of essential oils as not only an adjunct to the various methods of relaxation and stress control available, but also as a healing modality unto itself.

Liz Fulcher and Aromatherapy (www.lizsgardenaromatherapy.com)

Body Wisdom's Owner, Liz Fulcher, is a Nationally Registered Aromatherapist and brings 17 years of
experience, personal research and love of essential oils into her aromatherapy teaching and massage practice.   She consults and teaches for individuals, hospitals, health spas, stores, and corporations.

Liz's fascination with essential oils began while living in Rome, Italy and has led her to formal study with the American Institute of Aromatherapy, the chemistry of essential oils at Purdue University in Indiana and The Australasian School in Oregon. In September, 2003, she began Jane Buckle’s Clinical Aromatherapy program with Pinnacle Hospital in Harrisburg, PA, and Valley Health Hospital in New Jersey.

Ms. Fulcher is on the faculty of The Mt. Nittany Institute of Natural Health in State College as Director of Aromatherapy Studies and serves as Regional Director for the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy.  She is dedicated to the advancement of true aromatherapy in the world and the use of essential oils for healing. Her students range from mothers wishing to use essential oils as a means of natural healing for their children to registered nurses and physicians seeking to integrate aroamtherapy and essential oils in a clinical setting.

Students who attend Liz’s aromatherapy classes say that they leave knowledgeable and empowered.
She manages to take a complex subject and turn it into information that is easily accessible and enjoyable.
